, however, RP reserves the right, in its discretion, to send bulletins and other important information about additional services offered or rendered by RP.
Absent any instructions from the visitor, RP may use information provided by the visitor to inform him or her about additional services and products offered by the RP family of companies, RP authorized agents, and other goods and services providers with whom RP has relationships and whose offerings might be of relevant interest. RP will not, however, sell or trade a visitor's personally identifiable information unless we are authorized or legally required to do so, or in the case of imminent physical harm to the visitor or others. On those RP sites where credit card or other order information is collected via the web, RP protects and secures this information by employing commercially customary web-based security and encryption protocols, examples of which include Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and Secure Electronic Transaction (SET).
B. Non Personally Identifiable (Generic) Information:
In general, RP gathers some generic information automatically. Generic information does NOT reveal the identity of the visitor. It usually includes information about the Internet address assigned to a visitor's computer, the number and frequency of visitors, and the RP sites visited. RP gathers this information for the limited purpose of determining customer service and website needs. We accomplish this function by using certain technologies, including "cookies" (a technology that can be used to provide the visitor with tailored information about RP services). RP does not combine information collected in this way with any personally identifiable information. Visitors can set their browser to notify them when they receive a cookie and choose to refuse it.
C. RP-Hosted Websites, Bulletin Boards, Chat Rooms and Third-Party Sites:
Information that a visitor discloses in a public space, including on any bulletin board, chat room, or website that RP may host as part of its services, is available to anyone else who visits that space. RP cannot safeguard any information that may be disclosed in these locations. Additionally, RP websites contain links to sites that belong to third parties unrelated to RP. RP cannot protect any information that may be disclosed at these sites and recommends that visitors review their respective privacy policy statements.
D. Exceptions and Limitations:
Notwithstanding the foregoing and in compliance with applicable laws, RP
- Cooperates fully with state, local, and federal officials in any investigation relating to any content (including personal or private electronic communications transmitted to RP) or purported unlawful activities of any user of the Service
- Takes reasonable measures to protect its proprietary rights. For the limited purposes of accomplishing such cooperation and measures and in compliance with applicable laws, RP may be required to disclose personally identifiable information. In addition, RP may elect to monitor the areas of communication of any kind:
- To satisfy any law, regulation, or government request;
- If such disclosure is necessary or appropriate to operate RP;
- To protect the rights or property of RP or others in connection with the potential sale or transfer of any of its interests.
RP reserves the right to sell or transfer a visitors information (including, but not limited to name, address information, and other information provided to RP) to a third party that:
- Agrees to be RP's successor in interest with regard to the maintenance and protection of information collected and maintained by RP;
- Agrees to the terms and conditions of this policy statement.
