County, NY surveyed their 16,000 households to collect data for their

requirements, transportation usage, and general lifestyle preferences.
Ms. Linda Cooper, the town supervisor, said,
“The TouchTone Survey provided an extremely valuable benchmark for many constructive discussions during our town meetings.” The Town of Somers An
Open Space referendum was passed by a 98% vote in the town of Somers
shortly after 9,000 households had been surveyed using the TouchTone
Survey method. The purpose of the survey was to query residents and
businesses regarding key issues. Here’s what Mary Beth Murphy, Town
Supervisor, had to say:
“Without
the speed and ease of implementation of the Touchtone Survey, we would
never have met the tight deadline to approve an open space referendum
for our town. Passing it through sooner allowed us to evaluate
properties which might have been unavailable if we would have waited
another year.”
